I’m leaving for Egypt in less than a week and I decided to start this blog to keep everyone up to date on what’s going on there. I think this will be easier than emailing everyone. Potentially, it’ll be more interesting too, as I’ve created a flickr account to which I can upload pictures I take and then link them on here. I’m not yet sure exactly how often I’m going to post because I have no idea how good my internet access is going to be yet, but I really hope to post fairly regularly, both to keep everyone update and, for my own benefit, to document everything I do.
The last few days I’ve just been trying to tie up loose ends and get all the things together that I need for my trip – clothes, banking, and all that. Sam went today to the store to buy us loads of socks, Pepto Bismol, and Immodium AD. My doctor here also gave me a preemptive prescription for Cipro, an antibiotic. All of this is because we are almost certain to have some stomach issues while there – they call it “The Pharaoh’s Curse” in Cairo.

Nick–testing to see if it works! This will be fun…love, mom.
